Transportation

Prince George is easily accessible getting to and around.  We are located where the Nechako River joins the Fraser River near the center of British Columbia. Surrounding the City are the lake-dotted, rolling hills of the Nechako Plateau. The north-south Highway 97 and the east-west Highway 16 intersect at Prince George. The City is also the junction of the British Columbia and Canadian National Railways.

After arriving at the Prince George Airport, allow us to assist you in coordinating all your local transportation needs. Athletes will take only 12 minutes to reach the heart of Prince George and the hotel of their choice.  A trip to Prince George will save countless hours on the ground as athletes can reach their training centres, restaurants and entertainment and amenities all within 10 minutes from the door of their hotel; a feature than cannot be matched by a larger community.  Athletes can spend more time training and less time commuting.

Getting to Prince George

Air

Prince George is a short 50 minute flight from Vancouver. Over 15 daily scheduled flights are available from Air Canada, Westjet, Horizon Air and Central Mountain Air. The Prince George Airport is an International airport with on-site customs. The airport is located 11 kilometres from downtown Prince George. Ground transportation is readily accessible with taxi services, transit and rental cars.

Rail Travel

Both CNR freight and BC Rail freight lines operate out of Prince George as well as VIA rail passenger service. VIA Rail Canada runs more than 480 trains per week over a 14,000-kilometre network linking more than 450 locations in Canada — that adds up to about four million passengers per year on VIA trains! VIA makes sure every one of their trains offers exceptional comfort and services.
