Para Wheelchair Curling
As a community that prides itself on inclusivity and the promotion of Paralympic sport, Prince George has been thrilled with the development of a wheelchair hockey program at our local curling club.
Curling has always been one of the great winter obsessions with Canadians, and it was only a matter of time before the Paralympic community called the sport one of its own. Although wheelchair curling's inception to the Paralympic Games is only recent, the burgeoning winter pursuit for wheelchair athletes is quickly becoming a favourite both with Paralympic athletes and the Canadian public.
Always priding itself on its success in curling, Canada has begun to develop athletes in the sport of wheelchair curling, and Prince George is becoming a hub for elite wheelchair curlers. Recently hosting a National Championships Qualifer, the Prince George Curling Club has set itself apart as a first rate host and venue for Paralympic athletes and events.
With 10 sheets of curling ice, a full service restaurant, lounge and locker rooms only minutes from the City's restaurants, hotels and other amenities, the Prince George Curling Club is the perfect training venue for wheelchair curling, meeting the needs of all athletes, at every level.
