Para Biathlon
As with the nordic skiers, biathletes will have the pleasure of training in one of Canada's most scenic and serene nordic centres. Along with its 30 km of homologated trails, and 5 km of lighted trails, Otway Nordic Centre boasts a 20 target range, with plans for expansion to 30 targets.
Set in the solitude of the pine and spruce forests Prince George is renowned for, the range is supported by its own lodge and is only a few minutes ski away from the parking lot and main lodge facility.
Prince George is fast becoming a haven for biathletes, as the City and its community rallies behind its Club athletes. With the University's Northern Sport Centre beginning construction this year, Prince George's bid to become the High Performance Centre for Biathlon in BC is well underway. A supportive University and new coaching harold a new spirit for biathlon in the North; a spirit which Prince George continues to foster and hopes to spread as they attract some of the very best in the sport of biathlon.
The Northern Sport Centre will provide sports science and medicine for aspiring paralympians, and Prince George will provide a venue to create champions.
