Para Nordic Skiing

With 30 km of homologated trails, and 5 km of lit trails, the Otway Nordic Centre is capable of providing a challenge to every level of skier, including the elite paralympic athlete. While the trail system at Otway is more than enough to attract the very best in nordic skiing, the true advantages offered by Prince George's cross country trails are their accessibility, and on-site facilities.

Only 10 minutes from the downtown hotel district, Otway Nordic Centre is exceptionally accessible, yet athletes are immediately lost in the serenity of the Canadian wilderness.  The newly renovated 4768 sq ft lodge provides ample room for change rooms, storage, waxing, team meetings and anything else an athlete could desire.  While the top floor of the new addition is not wheelchair accessible, the remainder of the facility is, and will provide the same quality to those athletes participating in the sit-ski categories as those competing in any of the other nordic disciplines.

Although Prince George has yet to host a high level paralymic nordic event, we are a community that prides itself on inclusivity, and welcome the opportunity to put our community and facilities to the test, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of every athlete, whether Olympic or Paralympic.
