Hockey

Across Canada, if there's one sport that unites the masses, it's hockey. The speed and excitement is unrivaled, and like any other Canadian City, Prince George is obsessed with the game at every level.

Home to both a Western Canadian Hockey League and British Columbia Junior Hockey League team, hockey has always been a part of our community's history, and continues to be one of the defining activities locals participate in.

Prince George has helped to foster some great talents, and we have always strived for the best in team development, event hosting, and facilities. The Prince George Cougars have called our city home for over a decade, and their presence has bolstered hockey at every level in our community. The fan base was so for hungry for hockey that the city had no choice but to build the CN Centre, a new 6000 seat arena with the best in ice making equipment, boards, glass, and change rooms. The perfect training ground for future NHL stars like Eric Brewer and Zedeno Chara.

Even without this state of the art facility, Prince George has 4 other rinks, and 1 more arena ...more than enough to accommodate any number of hockey teams and players, no matter what their needs and desires. Four of the ice surfaces are held in the same facility, which is only minutes away from the downtown and shopping centres that we have to offer.

Hockey is a demanding sport, and the last thing any athlete needs is a long commute from the rink, to the gym, to the hotel. In Prince George such commutes are non-existent, but all the amenities are the same. There really is no better place to train.
